[TRIP REPORT] Orient Express Reborn Nightjet Paris To Vienna In Solo Sleeper Cabin First Ride
Austrian railway company ÖBB introduces a new Vienna to Paris Nightjet service connecting the French and Austrian capital three times a week starting from the 2022 timetable with the first ride to Paris on the 13th of December 2021 as NJ 468 and the return on the 14th of December 2021 as NJ 469. This trip report covers the first ride from Paris to Vienna on a cold December day during the pandemic and lockdown in Vienna.
This train service was once known as the famous Orient Express which made its final journey on the 11th of December 2009 from Strasbourg to Vienna as EN 469. After 12 years the legendary train is back on track. Although the ÖBB doesn't brand it as the Orient Express anymore, It's still good to see an international night train in France again!
