This is a demonstration of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter Remastered with 3D sound using OpenAL Soft's HRTF. The Kex Engine is one of a number of homebrew "indie" engines that uses OpenAL as its audio API due to being open-source. As such, you can replace the included OpenAL32.dll with a renamed 32-bit soft_oal.dll to get HRTF. Turok 1 has rather poor 3D sound, although that's not surprising given that it's built off a combination of a heavily-updated Doom 64 source port and the source code to a 1997 Nintendo 64 game. The HRTF would've actually sounded a lot better if Night Dive had chosen to use the higher-quality 22kHz sound recordings from the original, shitty PC port instead of the compressed 11KHz cartridge .WAVs. At least they bothered to implement EFX reverb in caves, though. Note that for once, I had to play the game's soundtrack at low volume because Turok's soundscape is too boring without it.
Note that there seems to be a glitch involving human enemy footsteps in this recording. This bug only seems to happen when OBS is running, so don't worry about it in normal gameplay.
