Tyrian 2000 - Engage Mode - Part 18 (Soh Jin, again)
With Trent's ship pulled by tractor beam towards Station Gryphon, his path is known to Microsol. They send entire fleets to arrest him, including Captain Nob, a powerful pirate and agent of Microsol. But Trent does not submit, and fights like a hero. The Mendivian C rebels ensure supply ships reach Trent on his journey.
Now flying near the desert planet Soh Jin, Trent once again witnesses just how dead Microsol wants him. Ridiculous ships are ahead of him, ready to kill him in at least ten different ways.

Well, ok, I exaggerated the situation on the Annotations in Part 16. The Hydroponic Labs are only on the next level. You'll see why I talk so much about them. Soon.
So basically, now we're near the planet of Soh Jin, still attracted towards Station Gryphon by tractor beam. And more Microsol ships come to attack.
This time, I decided not to use the Repulsor, to show these levels are very possible even if you don't have it.
For the record, the Repulsor is the single best Special Weapon to have... normally. Here on Engage, it's quite mediocre most of the time, as the bullets are just too fast to be bothered slowing down, much less turn around. Still, a lifesaver, but the Ice Beam rivals it very well. The SDF Main Gun is also good, but a loooong way ahead.
As for this level, it's very similar to the previous, except the enemies attack in weirder fashion. Prepare to face the Pong Ships. Either the "paddle" or the "ball(s)" will be invincible ; destroy the other part, and the invincible one usually goes down. At the end, the "paddles" remain even after the balls' destruction, but it's not a threat.
Enjoy the flight.
Difficulty : 2/10
Number of attempts : 1
And finally, we reach the hydroponic labs I've tried to raise so much anticipation about. In Full Game mode, you can chose between two levels, but not here (same scenario as with Asteroid 1 vs Asteroid 2).
I'll be nuking a biological research station. Hydroponic labs, not central defense stations. Nothing can go wrong. Right? RIGHT?!
