Javi Onukala, Gencore's security chief, gives Trent his next mission as an agent of Gencore. The jungle planet of Torm and the organic planet Gyges, he says, recently had some very unusual freighter shipments between them. Suspecting the cargo to be related to Microsol and the Gravitium, he sends Trent to intercept it.

Torm's lush jungles are beautiful to behold, but dangerous to be anywhere near. Countless pirates from all over the sector elected Torm as their headquarters and homes, camouflaging their ships in shades of green to avoid detection. In addition, dragons that happen to enjoy eating metal reside on the planet. But if it means gathering clues as to Microsol's next move, Trent is ready to face these dangers.

For many of us, Torm was an awe-inspiring level.
Indeed, after having played the shareware version of Tyrian for so long, playing that first episode over and over, Torm was the beginning of a new adventure.
Finally playing the full version on the game, we got one hell of a nice level : great backgrounds, great story, great enemies, great music, great sounds, great weapons, great feeling. And, of course, great gameplay.

Now, although Torm has lost its craze as the first new level we've played, it remains a very well-designed scenario.

Note : I switched the Detail to Normal, and will keep it on Normal from now on, unless specified otherwise.
Note 2 : Thanks to all my viewers! Both of you!

Ok, seriously, first you'll be attacked by dragons. Yeah, dragons that apparently like the beryllium and... aluminum (?) of your ship's hull. Fire-based weapons deal more damage against dragons, and the FIREbomb is likely a FIRE weapon. Thanks to it, the dragons were actually beatable, although they only drop a hard-to-see blue gem worth only 500 points.

The pirates of Torm have green-shaded ships, allowing camouflage. On Engage, don't expect to be able to nuke the whole planet, but with my weapon level, it's actually plausible.

There's ONE power-up, and you'll need it for further levels. Episode Two has VERY FEW power-ups ; in fact, ONLY Episode One that has a reasonable quantity.

Eventually you'll reach... another Z-29 Central Defense ship? On friggin' Torm? Anyway, if you play on Hard with uber weapons, it will take a few seconds to destroy this. You don't have much time, as the ship will just go past you anyway, leaving you alone.
However, here... I honestly didn't expect to destroy it. The outcome was hilarious, and amazing. Apparently turning Invulnerable and ramming the ship, shooting it from within, is VERY EFFECTIVE.

After "Come Back Again To Savara", the trademark music of the Z-29, stops, "Torm, The Gathering", the music for the rest of the level, restarts in quite epic fashion, with more ships incoming. It's not over yet.

You reach a new boss in the end. Watch out, especially without the Reflector ; you have to move to the side to avoid the Sonic Waves, but there are many, and they hurt, so be careful. Or stay as low as possible. Also, the boss shoots A LOT of firebullets in a quick burst, aimed right at you. You can quickly learn when it's coming, and avoid it. This boss is harder than average.

Overall, this level is very, very fun.
Difficulty : 4/10 (the boss being the most part).
Number of tries : 1
