Many years ago, Microsol scientists analyzed the Zica Flamethrower in their military research station, Station Gryphon. Utter chaos ensued as the device exploded, a tragic event later named the Not So Great Gryphon Explosion. Part of the station is still missing to this day due to that event.
And now, another part is missing due to Trent Hawkins' actions. Pulled towards Gryphon via tractor beam, the ace pilot decided to rush to his doom instead of trying to flee, but instead of just dying, obliterated all the fleets launched at him. Now he devastated the station and fled as soon as he destroyed all the tractor beams his sensors could locate.
In order to escape the station for good, he rushes into a parcel of space rife with magnetic rocks. Though Microsol controls the area, these magnetic fields are the only sure way of preventing him from being caught by another tractor beam from Station Gryphon.
