Mere minutes after initiating his daring escape from Tyrian, Trent Hawkins got a taste of what he is up against : a corporation with military stronger than he ever imagined, and seemingly stronger than any other force in the Tyrian sector.

Of the many places he could've gone after blasting his way to freedom, Trent chose the mysterious planet Soh Jin. No doubt the little importance of the planet, not to mention the large sand storms, will keep Microsol away from his tail. Unfortunately, this was not to be - Trent gets another sight at the trouble he is in, as he is tricked into approaching a base that turns out to be Microsol's. If the corporation has a military presence even on Soh Jin, where can Trent find solace?

Second level of the playthrough. Note that this is the secret level "Soh Jin", and that there are many theories as to how to get here.

Here's the correct one : do NOT destroy a certain ship on the first level, and do not activate any of the other 2 secret levels. The ship in question is the last U-ship of the first group that you see ; don't destroy it, and you'll get this Secret Level just before the boss. Careful, because after said ship goes below the screen, it flies back up diagonally, so try not to destroy it.

By the way, I screwed up my game saves. I actually redid the first level to get here, because I had forgotten to save, and the "Last Level" feature failed for some reason.

This level is interesting because of the unique turrets and walls. Note that you can sometimes get 2 (or was it 3?) power-ups here. Power-ups are essential in Engage Mode ; they give you slightly more firepower and an extra life.
Too bad I didn't get any. I didn't feel like retrying, either. I'll probably regret that.

As for the difficulty, it's quite hard until you get used to the turrets. Their bullets are solid, and will damage you a lot. The few ones that fire indestructible bullets are your main problem, though. Clever use of the Firebomb is your best tactic.
I did risky maneuvers towards the end, nearly getting me killed. Don't try.


Overall, not a hard level, as long as you know to predict the horizontal and diagonal bullets.
