The two asteroid sectors are ridiculously dense. The first is well known throughout the sector as a mining area used mostly by Microsol, supplying building materials on a large scale. A friend of Trent warns him of a less known detail : this sector is armed with extremely powerful cannons designed the obliterate asteroids which may crash unto the mining operations. If such a cannon is to hit Trent's ship, it would be nearly certainly deadly.

The second asteroid field is, secretly, used by Microsol to test its newly developed weapons and vehicles, thanks to the endless amount of asteroid for target practice. Trent, forced to go through one or the other field to reach Savara, the free world, ultimately chooses the second field. Microsol will surely have intercepted the data he received from his friend, thus it will not expect him to try passing through a heavily militarized region. With the advantage of surprise, Trent is confident he can outmaneuver Microsol's test vehicles, which while powerful, are not yet complete and mostly unknown even to their crews.

This level is forced in an Arcade or Engage type of game ; you can't choose Asteroid 1 instead. I have to admit this level is awesome, and there's so much stuff to blow up that you can't get bored here. Unfortunately, on an Engage game, your weapons are so limited and the enemies so powerful that you have to be modest.

The parts where the scrolling stops are very dangerous ; there are turrets which shoot two indestructible bullets at once. And on this difficulty, they do so very fast. Use the Firebomb and the temporary Invulnerability special command (down, up, left, hold down, fire) to quickly blow the turrets up. Once you've cleared those, you can actually "rest" there, repairing yourself. Which I did horribly, as I kept accidentally kept shooting Hot Dogs instead, which reduce your armor.
The boss, once nearly dead, will spam yellow balls that can't be shot. There are many of them, and dodging can be difficult sometimes. However, I destroyed the boss extremely fast, so I sidestepped that problem.

Overall, this level isn't hard, except for the parts where the scrolling stops. Also, you must be prepared to restrain yourself from attacking everything in sight ; doing so in Engage mode is too dangerous.
