Tyrian 2000 - Engage Mode - Part 6 (Windy)
The entire universe must be out to get Trent, for even after destroying yet another Microsol base, he was trapped in an uncharted base. But this was not Microsol's doing. Whatever place this was, the aliens used unusual technology and tactics to stop Trent. Having failed all attempts at negotiating his desire to just leave, the ace pilot had no choice but to plow ahead. An intercepted transmission his sensors picked up gave him an idea why the aliens were so hostile : could this be the place where the elusive weapon, the Prot(r)on Cannon Indigo, was manufactured and stored? If he had to fight, Trent realized he might as well try to seize the weapon to help him achieve his revenge against Microsol.

Note : DosBox crashed a few times after recording. Result? I had to restart some levels that I recorded. Therefore, these videos may not be perfectly consistent ; I made sure there wasn't any major difference such as the number of lives I have, but still the special weapon might change, and the total score too.
A very interesting level. Unlike Soh Jin, the pink blocks cannot be destroyed here. You also get weird turrets shooting weird bullets. Both the turrets and their bullets are destructible, but the bullets are too powerful, so just dodge them. Make sure you don't miss, however, or you're probably going to die.
The "X" blocks give points if destroyed, the "$" blocks drop strawberries (yes, strawberries), and the one "?" block apparently gives 1000 points.
I took some risks here. I played the game like I usually do... which is dangerous for a normal game, and downright suicidal in and Engage game. I actually destroyed the "?" box, which required me to literally crash my ship through invincible blocks.
Then, because of intense maneuvers, I accidentally activated a special command, summoning a Gerund to replace my Firebomb. Damn. I had to wait for an occasion to re-summon my Firebomb.
Finally, I did a special command by accident, again, this time getting the Proton Cannon Indigo (ironical, as the Datacubes of the Full Game mode hint that in the game's universe, the Proton Canon Indigo is found in this level). I re-summoned the Firebomb just before finishing, but didn't realize a "$" box in my path was ALMOST destroyed. Crash. Thankfully I survived.
This level is relatively easy, but it's very easy to die the first times around, regardless of difficulty, until you learn to fly in small spaces and avoid the blue bullets. Nevertheless, some people find this very hard (especially if you use the keyboard), so don't panic if you're having trouble.
Difficulty : 4/10
Number of tries : 1
