6This is one of those games that got buried by reviews because of it's graphic design/art. It's a bit ofa sad tale because the devs wanted to make something truly unique regarding gameplay. If they would have invested too much into the graphic design they wouldn't have had time to code all the other cool features into the game. So they went with the cartoon art style in the begining. The game does a wonderful job of world building, plot building and to put you in the role of....no one. The base is lead by people who act as a council and have clever disscusions when a problem appears.
The combat is very diverse, you can use a lot of tactics/weapons/suits/drones and even aliens. The battles, most are random generated but they are done very well(even having some enviromental dangers). The base design i truly great, the diplomacy system actually works and everything else is just there to give you options and more options.
No other game combines this many features into one working game.
Not to mention the modding community wich made some mods that will make the game tens of years ahead of any other comparable game.
I am not joking, this game is truly something else, especially for fans of Xcom. I liked all the game in the trilogy but on this one i spent the most time and i didn't even finish it. I think i will do a playthough of it in the future,even if not a lot of people are watching.
Final Verdict: 9/10 Planetary chess mastergame, only 9 because of the gameplay but still has some design problems and no additional content was relased.
