Understanding Social Media Marketing on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc. [Live Q&A]
Which Social Media Platforms Should be Part of Your Social Media Strategy?
A Social Media Marketing Strategy for a business should be part of their overall business strategy. Social media is simply a tool, not the be all of your marketing strategy.
The Q&A will be decidedly out of order since it's based on the order of the audiences questions. However, here is a breakdown of what I believe to be the most powerful platforms for Social media marketing management:
1. Email Marketing - This will be the lifeblood of your business online. This is a powerful way to connect with your followers and clients away from social media.
Anik Singal once taught me that a mailing list is worth $1 in the bank per month for every member on the list. That has been absolutely true in my experience. (to nurture prospects and maintain customer loyalty),
2. Website - Many have begun to argue that websites are no longer necessary. They are not necessarily wrong, but there is something to be said for having full control over your content and being able to manage it exactly the way you want.
3. Facebook - Facebook knows everything about everything and everybody. No other social media platform grants us the ability to target the exact audience we want to reach and get content in front of them. Facebook is also the largest social media network, allowing you to reach the most amount of people.
4. LinkedIn - Nothing beats linked in when it comes to researching and connecting with prospective clients. It's expected that your outreach is going to be business related here, so there are no worries of upsetting a potential client with business speak because they are expecting you to talk business there.
5. YouTube - The world's second largest search engine. Youtube is not right for every business. In fact, I've recommended many of my clients not use YouTube simply because Facebook is better suited to help them. However, if your content is right for the platform, you can have a non-stop source for leads if you manage your content correctly.
6) Twitter - The noisiest social media platform. Twitter is not great for talking to your clients directy. But it is great for listening and helping you with Public Relations support when you need it. Don't discount this powerful platform.
