Is it sad or cringy to unironically play Minecraft in 2018? No.
Is it sad or cringy to unironically hate on people who play Minecraft in 2018? Absolutely.

In this Q&A Vlog styled video, I've decided to address a recent comment I received directly. There are three key points to this comment:
1. Take out the Minecraft elements of Levaslier
2. Stop doing Minecraft because it's looked down upon
3. Stop doing Minecraft because it's on a downward trend

I briefly tackle all of these issues in order but I'll elaborate here:

1. As stated on our website, Facebook, and Patreon, Levaslier is not a "Minecraft Animation" but an Original Animation with Minecraft Elements. To take out the "Minecraft Stuff" is pretty difficult as you would first have to identify what "Minecraft Stuff" means in context to Levaslier. If you meant something like the fact that my protagonist is a slime and should instead be replaced with a human- that's completely fine and changes nothing; the key reason he's a slime is to show themes of segregation, racism, identity, and humanity. If you meant the style it's created in (in regards to the blocks), we've already deviated from the default texture pack and are using our own created assets alongside the Conquest Resource Pack- very different to the actual game. Furthermore, if I were to say, apply a bevel onto every edge in the game- it would change the style of the animation, nothing more. In other words, the Minecraft Elements of Levaslier having nothing to do with the content as much as it does the form. As storytellers and creatives, we need to be able to see past the form and deeper into the content.

2. Minecraft is most definitely looked down upon if you choose to surround yourself with people who look down upon Minecraft. out of the 144 million people playing the game, I would be willing to bet a large portion actually like it. To say that I should stop making Minecraft animations because people look down on it, is like telling a Japanese anime company to stop making anime because western cultures don't appreciate it- or to tell an author to stop writing because people don't read books anymore. That's ridiculous, there's always an audience for something. If something isn't your cup of tea, I won't force you to drink it, go get something else. I am specifically targetting those who like Minecraft, Animation, or are creative and innovative enough to see past the blocks and into the true story.

3. Anything, with time, will go on a downward trend. If I'm so busy worrying about whether things are going up or down, or whether things are popular- I wouldn't be doing anything. As stated on our website, "The team behind Levaslier is not motivated by fame, money, or power- but instead driven by self satisfaction". I did not play Minecraft because I wanted to "fit into the norm" or be "one of the cool kidz"- no, I played Minecraft before it became popular and when it was still a very niche game; I do not rely on anybody else to play the game because I fundamentally love it and it has done a lot for my life to get me where I am now.

As a final note, I am not having a go at the person who left the comment, this video is to address anybody else who have this perspective.
