USED! Lego Advanced Models Pet Shop! (Building Our 14th Modular, & Placing It In The City!)
Today we are building the 2011 Lego Modular Building from their Advanced Models line up, the Pet Shop set #10218, with 2,032 pieces. I begin this video by showing an inside look on how we hunt and appraise these sets before purchase, The web sites we commonly use are eBay, Brickset, and Bricklink. Once again this is a set designed by Brickmaster judge Jamie Berard. Oddly enough you find it rather hard to pin his name to the set. This is a set that is usually at the bottom of the list of peoples favorite modular and I wonder if he doesn’t want himself associated with this set. This set is similar to the Book Shop in terms of having two 32 x 16 baseplate buildings that can be separated. This is the last of the used older modulars for us, because after this, they are over $800 a piece to acquire. I personally like this modular and am very happy to have it. This was another used set, we did manage to save some money on it. We were careful to find one that was proudly owned and cared for. This one came with its box, which was heavily damaged, instruction books, and the pieces sorted by building stage. The build did go with out a hitch, and did not need bathing before the build. It was missing some very small parts on the roof. Also It was odd that it showed flowers in a window on the box, but not in the instructions. Reviewing the set we start with the house side, the ground floor is a short basement, then the next up is the main part of the house, the next floor is empty, except a guy painting a wall. The final floor is mostly empty, but has a porch with a small garden. On the Pet Shop side, on the ground floor, there is a area with dogs, cats, and fish for sale. The next two floors are a studio apartment. Since the Book Shop and the Pet Shop are similar, I will say I prefer this one far more! We move this video into the garage where we move the new and existing modulars into place in the lego city. I share some final thoughts, then give a tour at the completed lego City.
