Today we are beginning on building the 500 subscriber builds, but before we can divulge into those builds, first we need to build a way to protect them. The biggest issue with black Lego is it shows dust and that is scratches easily when you clean them. I use the CleanMyBricks vacuum because it uses a softer tip then keyboard vacuums that work similar, but still it scratches, as you can see on my demonstration. I don’t usually use cases for my sets, they just take up so much room, they can easily cut display space in half if not more. But for the 500 subscriber builds, it is important to do our best to avoid dust by using a case. There are Chinese companies that build these cases for amazon, but I didn’t like pricing, nor trusting them. Even though Amazon does act like a shield to protect you, so I went off to Google search. I found there is two big companies that show when you search, one is Wickedbricks based in the UK, the other is shopPOPdisplays based in the US. Wicked Bricks has the seemingly better product, but use DHL Global to ship. I don’t trust DHL in US, let alone globally. So I entrusted shopPOPdisplays for what I needed. I paid $333 for both cases with printed backgrounds, Wickedbricks had better backgrounds but were slightly more money. One concern is the near double cost to order a shopPOPdisplay case already built versus the one I bought. Building the case was generally easy, there are some common sense things to know that’s not stated int he guide, but these should come easy to anybody with mechanical intuition. It was hard just shooting $333 into the ether, but it was worth it. This company seems a bit small and old school int their process. As it takes almost two weeks for an order to be shipped. But now that all is done, I totally trust the process. The cases are rather large, but I really do recommend this company for cases. As always please comment your thoughts down below.
