Venture Kid is a Mega Man like clone, but the game is also quite difficult. Atleast on the Hard difficulty. I nearly played through this game before on Normal difficulty and don't remember that i had such a hard time back then. So i guess the difficulty actually changes things up.
The graphics are leaned on NES graphics, the controls are solid, i just think, that the hitbox is a little too big. After you beat the boss at the end of the level, you get rewarded with different weapons, which all got their own ammo bar. Most weapons you get have their own purpose, but i think that the little silvester rocket and the iceball are hard to use. From the things you can collect, you get your health back when collecting a heart, getting some ammo when collecting the "pill" and collect some currency by collecting the balls.
With the money you collect, you can buy various things from a store which you access through the pause screen. So you can spend your hard earned Money on Extra lives, Extra Ammunition, a Heart Plus (which acts like a Fairy from The Legend of Zelda), but also on a ammo distributor and a Extra heart to increase your maximum health.
But collecting the needed Money isn't easy. Since the small ball gives you 1 and the rare big balls give you 10 of the currency. So it takes some time, to get enough money for these items.

Oh yeah at the end of the video, when i collected the iceball, some script error kinda softlocked the game. But when i closed and restarted the game, it still did count this a completed level.
