This playthrough shows:
• a no-death run with the default dip-switch settings;
• all 1-Up Mushrooms.
*NOTE¹:* On World 4-3 and 6-2 it doesn't seem to be possible to grab the Goal Pole high enough to get the 5,000 points. If there is a way, please tell me (in the comments section below)!

The game is modified with the _Vs. Super Mario Bros. - Home Edition_ - hack. This hack allows _Vs. Super Mario Bros._ to run on a Nintendo Entertainment System or NES emulator. It also corrects the scrambled colors to the NES color palette, adds highscore saving and includes a pre-game menu that can be used to change dip-switch settings and reset the highscore table. The patch can be downloaded from ROMhacking.net at – [https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1014/].
*– GAME OVERVIEW –*
_Vs. Super Mario Bros._ for the Vs. System is a side-scrolling platformer. The game was developed by Nintendo Research & Development No. 4 (Nintendo R&D4) and published by Nintendo. It was released in Europe in January 1986 and in North America in February 1986.
The Vs. System is a video game arcade (AC) platform based on much of the same hardware as the Nintendo Family Computer (FC), commonly known as the Famicom, the Japanese equivalent of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
• _Vs. Super Mario Bros._ is a port of _Super Mario Bros. (スーパーマリオブラザーズ)_ (1985) with several notable differences.
◦ The existing worlds were made much more difficult, introducing narrower platforms, extra dangerous enemies, fewer hidden power-ups and 200 coins required for a 1-Up instead of 100. (Some of the new levels were included in the Japanese sequel, _Super Mario Bros. 2 (スーパーマリオブラザーズ2)_ (1986) – better known in the West as _Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels)._
• Although not officially released in Japan, an illegal coin-operated version of _Vs. Super Mario Bros._ – made from a Famicom placed inside an arcade cabinet – became available in Japanese arcades.
◦ Nintendo threatened legal action or prosecution against the arcade operators with these copies of the game.
• On December 22, 2017, _Vs. Super Mario Bros._ was ported to the Nintendo Switch (NSW) worldwide in Hamster's _Arcade Archives (ACA) (アーケードアーカイブス)_ series.
