In this video, I'm doing a short gameplay video of Capcom's very first Arcade game called: Vulgus. Vulgus was developed and published by Capcom, it was released in the Arcade in 1984. This game was not ported to many older computers, but Vulgus was only found in some Capcom compilation packs, such as: Capcom Generations 3 for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn released in 1999, Capcom Classics Collection vol. 1 for the PS2 and Xbox released in 2005 and Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded for the PSP in 2006. Vulgus can also be found as a bonus game in Capcom Arcade Cabinet for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Vulgus is a vertical scrolling shooter were you control a spaceship with a single objective: destroy incoming enemies. The vessel has two different weapons: a primary weapon with infinite ammunition and a limited supply of bombs. By picking up the "Pow" icons, which sporadically appear throughout the levels, the player can replenish supplies. This game is similar to Namco's Xevious, the game does not have distinct levels; the background alternates between the surface of a planet and a space field. The game repeats with increased difficulty until the player loses all his lives. In Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, Captain Commando has a win quote: "Capcom's first game was Vulgus, made in 1984!", since I find this quote very interesting when I played it. Overall, Vulgus is a hard, but fun game and I recommend to try this very old game out if you like of those vertical shooters by Capcom. I hope you enjoy this last gameplay of 2017 and stay tuned for a final playthrough of 2017, thanks for watching!
