Warcradle Studios: The Divine Intervention Posse unboxed & built!
It's been a while but it's time to pull out some Wild West Exodus models!
The Divine Intervention boxed set is an interesting one, as it's less steampunk and a lot more science fantasy- which is perfectly fine with me. Giant heavily armored protectors of all that is good with overly large and stylish weapons that must defeat the ultimate evil from across the universe? Sounds like the plot to a mid 90's console RPG, and in that case you can guarantee it's got my interest!
These models work with the Cor Caroli, which are the heavy troops of the Order. Construction of most models was quite straightforward. I did have a difficult time with the unit holding the spear in both hands- I'm not a fan of individual hands and arms having to be glued as there's a lot of room for error and messing up... much like what I did.
The other big challenge with this set is Makara, the centaur. I had to take a good long look at the renders on the box and online, and even then I wasn't 100% on whether I attached her legs correctly. I strongly suggest dry fitting her before any glue goes near her.
The more I look at them, the more I think I may use these models as Stormcast Eternals for Age of Sigmar skirmish games at home. They're the right size and the weapons they're carrying could totally count as Judicators or Paladins.
I think it's high time I actually paint all my Cor Caroli models. I had held off for months waiting to put this set together, so now I've got no excuses!
If you're curious, do take a look at the game's page. It's got the rules available along with all the necessary info to play if you want to give it a try (and read up on the lore as it's quite enjoyable).
