So, after saying that demos won't be a common sight on the channel, I naturally return to a demo! This is another demo to a game that I'm very much looking forward to, and so I thought that it would be best to revisit this game in preparation to the full release of the game. With that, welcome to WEEKEND_: Retribution.

The WEEKEND series, in my opinion, is underrated overall, and so to hear about this game when I did was a pleasant surprise. In its early stages, this demo gives us a good taste of what's to come. There are 7 characters and 3 mechanics to help defend us from certain death. We are supplied with a camera system, control of the door lights and room lights in order to make sure none of the animatronics find us with the lights on. 6 of the 7 characters are blocked from entering the office by shutting off the power, with one attacking us if the lights remain off for so long. Whilst all the mechanics are pretty damn cool and make things freaky, a lot of the mechanics (in the demo at least) are quite useless to us. The lights and camera system are there to help us know when an enemy is close by and ready to attack, and do help in that regard. However, when an animatronic arrives at the door or window, the screen will briefly give off a lightish flash, which immediately gives away when someone is there. It can be easy to miss as it happens so quickly, but the colour change is pretty evident that missing it is quite unlikely. That said though, the lights still come in handy when you're ever uncertain about anything, so there is that. But as for the camera, I've found it to be pretty inconsistent when showing where Chica and Foxy are - sometimes it will show Chica infront of the camera, sit back down again, but actually be at the door at the same time. So the camera to me is only useful to tell what time we're at, which is a shame. Given that there are to be a few more characters coming back, maybe the camera will become more integral, just so every character isn't deterred by the office lights (especially since it seems like the Puppet will return). Overall though, the mechanics are decent so far, but can feel redundant with that (supposed) light bug. Hopefully that will be fixed when the next update (new demo or full game) release.

Whilst I may have been mixed on the mechanics of the gameplay and animatronics, the animatronics themselves are nothing short of fucking wicked - the molten designs showing their extreme wear and tear, the eyes in Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Golden Freddy looking so realistic, Mangle's and Balloon Boy's burnt appearances, and Bonnie wearing Toy Bonnie's broken mask all scream just pure fear. These are some of my all-time favourite fan made animatronics. Even the likes of Balloon Boy, who looks basically like his phantom design, is so well done here as he just stares you down through the window - just all-round creepy. Although we haven't seen him yet, I'm dying to encounter that Springtrap looking one with the Puppet's mask - it's such a contrast seeing the killer wearing the mask of the saviour, such a clever design. The location itself is also really well done - looking all rundown and abandoned to fit the style of the robots. It's a shame the cameras aren't that useful, as looking at the rooms really doesn't help us feel safe and secure.

Overall, this is another game I'm eagerly waiting for. Whilst the lighting thing does need to go, along with maybe a couple mechanical tweaks being made, the character designs and location have already been nailed so well. I believe that with a few mechanical changes, this game can become a unique FNaF fan series that stands out above many. As I said before, I believe that the WEEKEND series is underrated in the grand scheme of things, and a game like his can really get this game's name out there. I'm eager to see what this game has in store.

With that, I hope you enjoyed this video. I know I said no more demos, and after this I intend to make that the case. I'm still trying to recover either the Winter Wonderland or Golden Night videos, to no success. But I'll definitely have them out very soon. I do hope you enjoyed regardless, as this wasn't one I intended to return to - I had a blast going back to this fan game, and I hope you're all ready to see what's in store soon!
