What are beta turns| reverse turns|beta bends in secondary structure of proteins
Aoa! MY name Is Ehsan and welcome to Biology with Ehsan
In this lecture we discussed the bet turns which are very important small molecules consist of four amino acids and change the direction of polypeptide. Beta turn is also called reverse turn due to it's ability to change the direction. Beta bends connect alpha helices with each other , with beta strands and also connect beta strands ( antiparallel) with each other, thus having important role in structural motifs.
Usually beta turns are found at surfaces of globular proteins. The biochemical structure and functions of beta turns are discussed in details
