White House watches raid on Bin Laden house 03.05.11
White House officials have revealed Barack Obama watched the raid that led to the death of Osama bin Laden in real time. The US President watched events unfold, sitting in the White House Situation Room. Mr Obama's Counter-terrorism Adviser John Brennan says it's believed bin Laden used one of his wives to protect himself. He also confirmed one of Bin Laden's sons -- Khalid -- along with two Al Qaida facilitators was also killed. Bin Laden's wife was wounded in the leg. It has also been revealed that it was one of Osama Bin Laden's most trusted couriers - a Kuwaiti-born man named Sheikh Abu Ahmed,- who led US forces to his hiding place. He died in the pre-dawn raid yesterday. The US is now investigating Osama bin Laden's support network in Pakistan. Authorities there had routinely denied the al-Qaeda leader was in the country. The President has described the end of bin Laden as "a good day for America".
