Witcher 3 - Frame Gen Fix, MAX RT, F#(%ing WOW!!! [RTX 4070, Core i9, 4K, 60 fps]
1OMG!!!! This game looks so good now!! I am floored and absolutely shocked how much better the game looks with Maximum fidelity with every single setting cranked up. Maximum Ray Tracing settings makes the game far better, truly next-gen, and is definitely a titanic upgrade. I've never seen The Witcher 3 look this good or run this smooth and is definitely up there with the most beautiful game scenery and background graphics I've ever seen like in Red Dead Redemption 2. It made me want to skip Fast Travel altogether in favor of riding horseback through the countryside. Check out my gameplay on the latest patch v4.04 on the Blood & Wine DLC expansion.

I found a way to reduce the DLSS 3.0 Frame Generation Stutters and crashes in The Witcher 3. It is not well documented. I actually just discovered the fix yesterday because of the Frame Generation mod for Starfield that was just released a couple of weeks ago. You'll need to place the two newest NVidia DLL files beside the witcher3.exe executable file to update and fix the game.
Grab both of these files:
(DLSS) https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
(DLSS Frame Generation) https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-3-frame-generation-dll/
Then extract these into the game directory where the Witcher 3 executable file is located. Usually this path for the Steam version:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\x64_dx12
Also make sure that you have a GeForce RTX 4000 series and are using the latest NVidia driver 537.42 released on September 21,2023. There's a few other things that need to be done to ensure things run as smooth as I have it, but I'm not documenting that here unless somebody asks. From time-to-time, the Frame-Gen will desynchronize and graphics will flicker. To fix this simply pause the game and then resume.
