Witcher 3 - Ray Tracing, Ultra+ Settings [RTX 4070, 4K, 60 fps]
1In this clip I am using the Grandmaster Ursine Witcher set (Bear School). This clip has two back to back missions with great cinematics. Maximum fidelity with Maximum Ray Tracing settings makes the game truly next-gen. The Witcher 3 already looked great but with Ray Tracing enabled, it takes the realism up a notch.

I found a few ways to reduce the DLSS 3.0 Frame Generation Stutters and crashes in The Witcher 3. It is not well documented.
1. You'll need to place the two newest NVidia DLL files beside the witcher3.exe executable file to update and fix the game.
Grab both of these files:

Then extract these into the game directory where the Witcher 3 executable file is located. Usually this path for the Steam version:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\x64_dx12
Also make sure that you have a GeForce RTX 4000 series and are using the latest NVidia driver 537.42 released on September 21,2023.
2. Disable all kinds of overlay programs like MSi Afterburner, Nvidia Performance Overlay, and the Steam Overlay.
3. An addtional way of helping to minimize the Frame Generation Stutters even more is to make sure that "Borderless Window" option is selected. Find the "Borderless Window" option under Display --˃ Display Mode--˃ Borderless Window. Running the Display option as "Borderless Windows" was the most effective at prolonging a stable gameplay the longest without the stutter showing up.
When the Frame Generation stutters appear, pause the game then resume to get rid of the flickering.
