Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. As promised, with Syphon Filter series fully finished and incorporated into the channel's ever-expanding walkthrough catalogue, the time has come to return to the world of PC games, as i play through the first major PC-related project since the end of my BioShock series walkthrough earlier this year. The game in question is the one i've been looking forward to for two years now and generally one of my favorite games of the past decade, Wolfenstein: The New Order, so sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.

About Game: Wolfenstein: The New Order is 2014 First-Person Shooter video game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows-based PCs. It is sixth mainline game of Wolfenstein video game series that serves as the second reboot of the series, following the previous attempt from 2000s. Upon release, The New Order became something of an unexpected success as majority of the critics and players praised the game's fast-paced, visceral gameplay, graphics, setting and effective utilization of alternate history within the game's storyline, although some critics weren't impressed with the supporting characters, considering them too underdeveloped compared to the game's protagonist, William Blazkowicz. Regardless, The New Order was extremely successful, having sold over 400,000 copies within a month of release and having been nominated for several prestigious awards in 2014 and 2015, including Golden Joystick Awards and D.I.C.E. Awards although it failed to win either. Retroactively, The New Order is seen as the game that brought Wolfenstein series back into spotlight after relatively lackluster run in 2000s and is considered to be the most successful of MachineGames' Wolfenstein games as its follow-ups, 2017's Wolfenstein: The New Colossus and 2020's Wolfenstein: Youngblood failed to match this game's success. Due to this, Wolfenstein series is on haitus as of July 2024 with no new games planned in foreseeable future.

Story of the game is set within an alternate history where Third Reich managed to win World War 2, following William "BJ" Blazkowicz, US soldier and OSS agent who was rendered catatonic during the mission near the end of the war and spent 14 years locked in an asylum in Poland. Having regained lucidity in 1960 as the asylum where he was placed was being cleared out by the Nazis, BJ escapes and finds his way to the Reich's capital, Berlin where he joins up with Kreisau Circle, an underground resistance movement which is actively trying to undermine Fascist dominion over the post-war world which is being maintained by extremely advanced technology and weapons created for the Reich by the German researcher Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse, putting BJ and his allies into seemingly impossible mission of toppling highly advanced and world-spanning Nazi empire.

By July 1946, World War 2 is still raging on with Nazi Germany being on the cusp of victory, aided by impossibly advanced weapons and technology created by elderly researcher and general of the German military named Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse. With Allies having been broken and mostly defeated due to impossibility of competing with Nazis' new weapons, remaining American and British troops prepared a desperate assault on Deathshead's compound located somewhere on the Baltic coast with intention of assassinating Deathshead in order to stop him from creating any more advanced weapons for the Reich with BJ being one of the participating soldiers. However, mission goes awry immediately as majority of the assault force is massacred even before reaching the compound with BJ, British Wing Commander named Fergus Reid, American Private named Probst Wyatt and few other soldiers ultimately being the only ones to reach the compound's beachead alive. Despite being faced with impossible odds of actually breaching Deathshead's fortress, BJ's strike team manages to reach the fortress itself, although they end up falling into its hidden incinerator room with Wyatt accidentally activating it while trying to leave the room. Narrowly avoiding death, BJ's team retreats into another room where they defeat one of Dethshead's experimental super soldiers. However, Deathshead himself appears and captures trapped soldiers with BJ being forced to choose wheter to allow Deathshead to vivisect Wyatt or Fergus. After choosing the former and watching him being murdered by Deathshead who activates the room's incinerator in order to kill the remaining soldiers before leaving, BJ and Fergus manage to free themselves and destroy the incinerator pipes to give themselves time to escape. However, while they manage to jump through the window just in time to avoid the explosion, a shrapnel from the room hits BJ in the head. Some time later, he is found floating in the sea and sent to Poland where he is pronounced catatonic and placed in an asylum...
