In this video I explain the CPU command and how fastrom works. Enabling these can speed up your computer. For WHDLoad games, you can put in NOCACHE as a tooltype so you can play games, even with the cashes on. (Yes, I added this to all my WHD games).

Production Notes:
Recorded 1 May 2023 (with live narration)

A question came up on Lemon Amiga from a guy wanting to know how to speed up his IDE interface. He reported that the drive speed was lower than what they say is the maximum. The question was answered by friendly Irish techno wizard Daedalus, who pointed out that setpatch, and enabling Fastrom actually helps with drive speed. So I made this video.

I guess many people will have an 030 or faster CPU, but they never knew about the caches. The A1200 EC 020 comes without most of those, but the A3000 and A4000 can make use of them. I had caches working when I used to have an 030 card, and I preserved the software I got from that in the C commands archive on the Lemon Amiga Web site.

In the next part, I'll look at MMU speedups, installing 020, 030 and 040 libraries, and adding Z3 fast memory and an FPU.
