Wreckfest (2018) - Every PC Rally Game

Developed by Bugbear Entertainment, who made Rally Trophy (as well as the fundamentally similar FlatOut, FlatOut 2 and FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage), this project was kicked off around 2012, with the game originally known as Next Car Game before the Wreckfest title was applied. It was officially released in 2018 and has been modified many times since.
In 2021 they added a Rally Trophy stage (one of the original game's Russian stages), plus a Ford Escort style car skin, as a 20 year tribute to Rally Trophy (which was released in 2001).
Whilst the cars are set up for banger racing, here I'm using a range of rally-based vehicles, plus a few community mods: Snow Tracks by F-Bomb (although Bugbear did some snow stages themselves a while ago), Night Racing by F-Bomb (a little unfinished), the "Speedemon" car Castrol Toyota tribute skin by bulletproofvolvo and the Peugeot 205 style car seen in the final clip, from the Spicy bangers Car Pack by McKant.
It's worth noting just how good this game feels, whether on joypad (as played here) or wheel. The physics (and obviously the crash damage!) are excellent, as are the graphics generally. Sound is mostly good, although if you play with the soundtrack on (not in this video) it's hard to hear the music without tweaking levels.
Maybe the praise that the Rally Trophy stage received might encourage Bugbear to make a Rally Trophy 2 one day; if they did, I'm sure it'd be excellent, as is this game!
