Hey gang, here's one of our old Twitch recording for The Blackout Club back in July right before the shift out of Early Access.

The Blackout Club is sort of a soft horror/stealth experience in the tradition of, say, "Goosebumps" where it's retained enough to be appropriate for young adult audience but with a sort of kooky charm appealing to all ages groups. The story-line is essentially that your town is under-siege by a some sort of corporate conspiracy resulting in strange phenomena. Whatever mixture of technical or paranormal means has captivated all the adults into some brainwashed state. They lurk around at night sleepwalking on behalf of these unknown fiends while you and the other boxcar kids are hiding out in safety trying to unearth the mystery of the town. They're can't see you in your sleep, but if they hear you you're in a whole lot of trouble.

It allows a single-player or online co-op experience where you and others work together to collect evidence of the strange occurrences and figure out exactly what they're up to here.

With the adults all sleepwalking they sure can't see you, but they've got great hearing. You've got a limited ability to struggle, but it's backed up by some crazy tools and equipment that'll help you evade them or otherwise go unnoticed.

The big catch though... if you raise enough attention there's.... something else that comes looking. And it can see you---but you can't see it. Only vague impressions if you close your eyes, so when you cause trouble this game turns into hide&seek.

The video I'd saved from twitch is just my sole-experience, though both games in solo and co-op end up roughly the same with different amounts of objectives. (And of course access to more tools since each player can only carry one). The gameplay is fairly repetitive mission-wise, and can burn you out easily solo. It's pretty clear that the solo element is more of an afterthought addition to widen the appeal for people avoiding MP.

The multiplayer is where the game's real appeal and longevity comes out. It's not so much a game of harsh thrills and scares, though you'll have those tense BWAAHAA moments trying to hide/run/escape. The real heart of the experience is just dicking around with your friends and trying to see what you can pull off while laughing together and having a blast.
