Hello again. This thing came out before TSE's Ep.10 after all...
Today we start a new investigation - the one revolving around the Progeny. That's all I can say about what happens here.

It was a long time since I've written something in my personal HDD. Can't blame myself though - since us discovering the hidden EXALT hideout there's been a lot of events going on.
Bomb defusals, city fortress assaults, capturing important alien commanders - we've had to do a lot of job just to be effective. As for recent occurings...
Last week, we've brought down the very last major logistic center of the invaders. It was a result of highly divisive decisions of John and the Commander throwing the Resistance's plans out of the window, and I didn't think that I'll live up to this - but we've finally won the war.
The Commander was in fact instrumental in ending the Ethereal's bastard rule once and for all.
The ocean situation is still under the control of Templars, but reports involve that this weird pink flow causes some damage in the neighbourhood. Some witnesses claimed seeing gigantic orange crustaceans coming and terrorizing the population - but Templars don't speak too clearly on this topic.
The Shrike - the very same guys that volunteered to keep the order in liberated cities - are uncannily effective in doing their job. There's been a lot of complaints - mostly from the spoilt city center population and especially our little alien friends in captivity - about their methods. But hey, I've seen them in action, and I approve of them establishing a leash on such beasts such as Andromedons or Chryssalids.
They've kept us from repeating the same Novosibirsk's disaster from occuring ever again. Speaking of which - I've spent another two months dealing with Essentuki about what we need to do with the city. It was as unpleasant as the first time I've seen her, but we've found a compromise - once the war is over, then XCOM will help to rebuild the city. Kelly whined about her having control over us...
So, Kelly... I thought that I was wrong about her, maybe I was too rash in judging her about her obvious downplaying of that disaster. And when I decided to fix the relationship - who would have thought - it turned out to be even worse.
Thanks to Kelly we've had a lot of recruitment going on lately, to replace the off-field losses. But in personal communication, she's defiant of the strategy Bradford had kept in XCOM, demanding to recruit people that "are seeing that the world is changing", sometimes ever overriding the direct orders of the Commander himself. Soldiers recruited by Kelly have trust in her, not the two men who did everything they could to stop this war in the first place.
And when I've approached her about discussing why we need to pick random people off the streets, she just coldly remarked about me "being a blind bigot". A nice fellow isn't she. If other universes existed where she was living, maybe she was the same hero our new recruits see her today.
But not here - she's a cold, rebellious chick with her personal cult out of fresh meat. I should try to get the Commander to get clear of her until it's too late.
The aliens - thanks to Kelly with her demands to the entire Resistance and soccer judges from their pampered houses in city centers - are now getting pardoned all over the place, and reintegrated into the society.
I can see that being the reality with Ax'Omow - and he's been a big help in deciphering lots of stuff for the Resistance (I'll even say that I wouldn't complain about him being liberated) - but the other ones? They're the same cruel slave keepers playing on pity of human psyche - they should be left to rot where they belong.
And now the worst part - as the war ended, my comrades have decided that it's the time for them to stop, for meanwhile. I can understand why they're leaving, but there's so much reasons beyond just being tired... I'll just give the list of those who left already:
- Corinna and Citruson Grosse
- Monique LeFevre
- Artemis Papatamelis
- Gerald Blizzard
- Jana Hauffman
- Killan Walsh, the second Raetezer
- Rita Thornton
The most painful was the leaving of Salmon Grain, my best of still present friends. New recruits have been quite a nuisance, treating us like old bags of trash. Inside XCOM, I still keep talking with Nic (with her especially), Shigeru, Zoe and Lena, along with John, Richard, the Commander and Lily...
But if Kelly decides to overthrow XCOM or becomes too powerful - or, hell, my friends leaving this place... I don't know if I'll be determined to stay here myself.
The dark times are coming. I'm uncertain in what I'm going to do once my time here is up.
