XCOM: Enemy Within - Episode 11 (Cryptic Heat)

In the days following Operation Burning Dirge we were blessed with some much needed peace and quiet here at the base. I'd almost forgotten what it was like not to have some pressing meeting to attend, or an operation to oversee. So while the troops spent their time in the gym, or the bar, I spent long hours in Engineering. Dr Shen is, perhaps unsurprisingly, almost as fond of tea as I am and has produced some truly marvellous tea-centric technological marvels!
Needless to say, I have seen fit to funnel a healthy portion of this month's funding towards his department. Such genius should not be bound by the shackles of bureaucracy!
However, before I had sufficient time to properly study Dr Shen's plans for base expansion (something about a power plant, and digging deeper) the silence was pierced by the familiar klaxon of mission control, where our African satellite had picked up a UFO contact hovering over Egypt. I barely had time to reach the operations room before the thing had been shot down, and so Operation Fading Fall was launched in earnest.
As we expected, the 'seeker' aliens were again present, though this time far more persistent. Working in conjunction with Thin Men the tentacled monstrosities drove our troops into an unfavourable conflict that left David Powell badly wounded and Evelynn quite shaken. Though all of our troops were able to complete the mission under their own steam, it will be weeks before David is able to return to active duty, and I'm told by our psychiatric staff that Evelynn is to be afforded as much rest as possible.
One might think that following that we might have a moment to catch our breath, but true to form, the council have been in touch regarding a mission to extract a strategic asset from China along with the ex-member of the Triad who currently holds it.
The choice of who to send on this mission is critical. I only hope there will be suitable replacements for Evelynn and David while they recover...
