Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we'll return to the world of Yakuza series which we last visited several months ago, also marking the first PS2 game played on the channel in over four months. Without further ado, sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.

Please note that the blue line above the gameplay are emulator options which appeared since certain unforeseen issues with the interaction between my recording software and fullscreen mode of PCSX2 forced me to record in windowed mode. While i cleared up the display as much as i could, those options cannot be removed and will remain on-screen in all videos recorded on PCSX2 from this point on until i find a way to resolve this issue, which may take awhile. However, save for being distracting to some viewers, those options won't have any serious impact on gameplay quality and viewing experience. Thank you for understanding and enjoy the gameplay.

About Game: Yakuza 2 (also known as Ryu Ga Gotoku 2 in Japan) is 2006 action-adventure video game with beat 'em up elements developed and published by Sega, originally for PlayStation 2 before being ported onto PlayStation 3 and Wii U in 2013 exclusively in Japan. It is the second game of Yakuza/Like A Dragon series and a direct sequel to 2005's Yakuza. Like its predecessor, Yakuza 2 was met with positive reviews upon release, although it was sold much better in Japan than in the rest of the world, partially because European and North American versions of the game were released only in 2008. This game also introduced the tradition of all games in the series having only Japanese dub with western releases having English subtitles after a poor reception of profanity-ridden English dub of the first Yakuza. This tradition remained unbroken until the release of Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon in 2020. Like its predecessor, Yakuza 2 received a full-scale remake for modern consoles and PCs, titled Yakuza Kiwami 2, that was released in 2017.

Story of the game is set in late 2006, approximately a year after the events of the previous game and follows Kzuma Kiryu, ex-Yakuza and former fourth chairman of Tojo Clan who was instrumental in stopping a 10 billion Yen crisis a year prior. As him and his adopted daughter Haruka visit the cemetery in order to pay their respects to three individuals who were killed during the incident, they are met by Yukio Terada, current Tojo chairman who replaced Kiryu after he willingly abandoned the position. Terada explains that Tojo Clan and their main rival, Kansai-based Omi Alliance, are close to war which Tojo Clan cannot hope to win due to their entire structure still recovering from the events of the previous year, asking Kiryu to help him broker the truce with Omi chairman named Jin Goda. Despite Kiryu wishing to stay out of the Yakuza politics following his retirement from the position of chairman and being ready to refuse Terada, their meeting is interrupted by a group of armed assassins from Omi Alliance who manage to shoot Terada through the arm. In order to protect Terada and Haruka, Kiryu fights the assassins. However, as he knocks them all out, another runs up to the group and shoots Terada through the chest before Kiryu is able to intervene, gravely injuring him. Using the last of his strength, Terada gives Kiryu an envelope, urging him to deliever it to Jin Goda with Kiryu and Haruka rushing injured Terada to the hospital, only to witness as he passes away. Later, at Tojo Clan headquarters, Kiryu delivers Terada's message to the clan's interim chairwoman, Yayoi Dojima and other Tojo captains and voices his intention of honoring Terada's last request by delivering the message to Jin Goda. Despite everyone present knowing that heading into Omi-held Kansai is likely a suicide mission due to the open act of war instigated by Omi Alliance, Yayoi allows Kiryu to undertake the mission. Before he departs, Kiryu also asks Yayoi for the whereabouts of her son, Daigo, intending to set him up as the new Tojo chairman. However, Kiryu learns that in the years since he last saw him, Daigo served a prison sentence and became a thug causing problems all over Kamurocho district. Undeterred, Kiryu sets out to track him down, eventually finding him in an nightclub surrounded by a group of flunkies who start antagonizing Kiryu in order to prevent him from talking to their boss, ultimately challenging him to a fight. After heading out to the alleyway behind the club, Kiryu swiftly beats up all of Daigo's flunkies before ultimately fighting Daigo himself when he refuses to listen to his proposition to take over Tojo Clan. Upon defeating him, Kiryu shows him Terada's message and explains his assignment with Daigo deciding to accompany Kiryu to Kansai, citing a personal score to settle there as a reason...
