You Are Empty Beta / Unused Content: NPC Weapons
448I've got unused NPC to work by changing the classnames of existing NPC in .ds2edf files, thus replacing the existing NPC with unused ones. Unused weapons can be taken with cheat codes.
1. Actor_bumper. It rides around the level and crushes the player.
2. Actor_pig_parent - exploding pig. I thought it probably was supposed to be kamikaze enemy, but according to developer notes (http://www.gameru.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3329&st=300&p=1174721&#entry1174721) it was planned as a Kolhoz's boss. If that's the case, this seems to be its death animation.
3. Actor_butcher. This one looks very cool, too bad that the developers had to cut him from the game.
4. Actor_sniper. Very tough enemy.
5. Actor_soldier. Looks like a fireman, but armed with a soviet tommygun "ppsh" instead of an axe.
6. Nurse's unused skin. I found this skin in gameres\textures\textures.pak\$dds\sestra_2.dds, I got it to work in the game by renaming it to sestra_3.dds and overwriting the original sestra_3.dds. This skin was briefly shown in the E3 2004 trailer at 1:34

7. Actor_pig. Unfinished monster. Uses sounds of the dog, and it's not possible to hit it.
8. Weapon_maxim. This is a heavy chaingun, so the player has to put it before shooting. This weapon is fully operational, but it's not possible to find it anywhere in the game, so you have to use cheat code to get it.
9. Weapon_grenade. As you can see, the enemy AI is aware of grenades and tries to avoid them.
10. Weapon_thunder_fire. Unfinished flamethrower.
11. Actor_vodolaz. This monster is so unfinished, its invisible. It looks like the model is there, the game just fails to show it for some reason. Apparently someone managed to open it in an external program:

12. Actor_veslo.
You Are Empty is a great game, its excellent level design, atmosphere, great music and photorealistic graphics make it a second Half-Life 2. The game takes place in the Soviet Union. The scientists ran an experiment which would make people better. Something went wrong, and most people turned into monsters. The player managed to avoid the transformation, and now he must find a way out.
