We'll show you how to make basic pork steak using pork loin! By trimming the tendons beforehand, you can achieve a softer texture! You can also easily make the sauce using seasonings you have at home!

■Ingredients (Serves 2)
・2 slices pork loin (for tonkatsu)
・1/2 onion
・A pinch of salt and pepper
・1 tablespoon plain flour
・1/2 tablespoon salad oil
☆Sauce Condiments
・2 tablespoons mirin
・2 tablespoons soy sauce
・1 tablespoon sake
・1 teaspoon sugar
・1/2 teaspoon grated garlic
・1 tablespoon medium-thick sauce
Garnish
・Shredded cabbage (as needed)
・Tomato (as needed)

■Procedure
(1) Cut the onion into 1cm wide strips, cutting across the grain.
(2) Make 4-5 1cm vertical slits in the pork between the lean and fatty parts. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and sprinkle a thin layer of plain flour on the surface.
(3) Add the ☆ ingredients to a bowl and mix.
(4) Heat salad oil in a frying pan, add the pork, and cook over medium-high heat until browned. Flip the pork over, push it to the side of the pan, and add the onion.
(5) Once the onion is soft, add the ☆ ingredients and simmer until glossy.
