■Ingredients (Serves 2)
・4 Chikuwa (fish cakes)
・1 stick of String Cheese
・4 tablespoons of salad oil
⭐ ︎ Seasonings
・3 tablespoons of plain flour
・1 teaspoon of green laver
・3 tablespoons of water
■Procedure
[Cooking Time: 15 minutes]
1. Cut the String Cheese into lengthwise crosses. Press one slice of cheese into each chikuwa. Repeat to make a total of four (cheese chikuwa). (If the cheese won't fit, make a vertical slit in the chikuwa and wrap it around the inside.)
2. Add the ☆ ingredients to a bowl and mix (batter).
3. Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip the cheese chikuwa in the batter and place it inside. Fry, turning occasionally, until lightly golden brown.
■Caution
When frying, the oil can heat up easily and there is a risk of fire. Please observe the following points when cooking.
1. Never leave the heat unattended when frying.
2. If white smoke appears, it is a sign of high temperature, so turn off the heat immediately.
3. When frying, the amount of oil used is small, so the temperature can easily rise. Avoid frying over high heat.
