This is video #06 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX for the GameBoy Color. This video contains commentary. To view the non-commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/6F_aF-_uK2U

Previously, Link visited Kanalet Castle and retrieved the five Golden Leaves for Richard at Richard's Villa. When Link returned, Richard let him dig up the Slime Key, which is needed to unlock Level 3: Key Cavern. So, let us go unlock that dungeon and start exploring.

Northwest of Richard's Villa, Link uses the Slime Key to open up the Level 3 entrance (time 0:16). To actually get inside, though, Link will have to go back around past Richard's Villa. After he gets past the trees, he will have to circle around along the shore of the lake, then jump across the small islands.

He will eventually reach the entrance to Level 3: Key Cavern (time 0:58). In the room to the east, he cannot get at the treasure chest just yet.

To progress, he will have to bash open the northern door with a pot. In the next room, he can get a key by defeating all four enemies (time 1:39).

He will have to go north through the door closer to the chest. Defeating all the Green Zols in here will open the door. The chest here contains ... just another Green Zol!

Link goes north to the next room. As yet, there is no way to get to that Red Gel along the western hallway. But there soon will be.

The next room to the north contains a stairway (time 2:27). Downstairs, four locked doors confront him. Link heads north first. Defeating both enemies in this room will net Link a Small Key. There is also a switch here that Link must trip.

Link returns upstairs (time 3:04). Having tripped the switch, he can now collect this dungeon's Stone Beak. Back downstairs, he returns to the northern room and listens to the owl statue's advice. Then, he goes back upstairs.

A couple of rooms to the south, he goes through the eastern shutter door (time 4:03). Having tripped the switch, he can now climb onto the center platform, defeat the enemy, and acquire the Map. I can see that Key Cavern is an apt name for this dungeon.

Now, Link returns north and goes down to the four-way intersection (time 4:42). To proceed farther into the dungeon, he takes the eastern door. Look out for the Wizzrobe-like dodos. They will teleport away as Link approaches, and when they reappear, they will send an energy star in his direction. Fortunately, the energy star moves in a straight line, and most stationary objects will block it.

Past the conveyor belt, Link will go upstairs again (time 5:00). He will now be in the room east of the room where he initially went downstairs.

North, north, and east, there will be a statue advising Link to poke suspicious walls with his sword (time 5:18). Sound advice!

In the room to the north, Link will have to defeat three bombs to progress. When he hits them, they will start counting down. Prepare for a spin attack, and then release when they start to flash so they are propelled away. A couple of Green Zols must be beaten, too.

The next room to the west contains the Compass (time 6:03). Also, Link can bomb through the western wall. Defeating the three bombs will net Link a Small Key.

After returning to the room north of the stairway, Link goes west (time 7:36). A spin attack can take care of the Red Zol and Red Gels. Then, in the room to the west, Link will have to take care of the dodos and the Green Zols to get another Small Key. It is easiest to spin-attack them right as they are reappearing.

Through the sliding door to the north, Link will find two Red Zols and a Green Stalfos (time 8:05). Defeating them reveals a chest on the upper walkway. The next room to the north holds two bombs and a Stalfos Knight. The owl statue has a hint on dealing with this dungeon's Mini-Nightmares. To get at the treasure chest in the room to the south, Link must climb onto the southeast balcony.

In the room to the south, the treasure chest earned by defeating the Red Zols and the Green Stalfos contains 50 Rupees (time 9:05). Not bad!

Then, Link goes north from the room with the Red Zol and Red Gels (time 9:26). He finds the dungeon's Mini-Nightmares, a pair of Dodongo Snakes. He will need to feed each one three bombs to defeat it. Fortunately, there are a few sources of bombs nearby in the dungeon. Each releases a fairy when defeated, and when both are gone, a teleporter will appear.

Afterwards, Link exits east (time 10:10). After pushing a couple of blocks aside, he opens the chest and acquires the dungeon's treasure, the Pegasus Boots. These were also in A Link to the Past, and they are even more useful in this game. By holding down the button set to these boots, he can dash. This has several uses, including mowing down the crystalline barricades such as those immediately south of the chest. If he has his sword equipped, he will be able to skewer enemies as he runs.

Description continued in the comments.
