In this video, we get started with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The hero, naturally, will be named Link, and his loyal steed will remain named Epona.

As we start the game, we join Link and one of his fellow villagers, Rusl, at a forest spring at sunset (time 0:31). Rusl has some deep words about the hour of twilight. He also speaks on a mission that he wants Link to undertake on his behalf. When they are through, they head back towards the village.

A lovely cinematic plays as they make their way towards the village (time 2:26). As they reach Link's house, we see Rusl's family, and it is pretty apparent to me why Rusl wants someone else to undertake his mission.

Another brief scene takes place at Link's house (time 3:26). A lovely girl shows up and leads Epona off. Then, the neighborhood goatherd, Fado, shows up to plead for Link's help with herding duties. However, the matter of a missing horse could complicate things.

Just minutes into the game, we gain control of Link outside his house in Ordon Village, Ordona Province (time 4:22). Free look with the C stick is an excellent point that the GameCube version has in its favor. All Link has on him is the basic Wallet, which holds a maximum of 300 Rupees. Well, at least it's better than the initial limit of 99 in Ocarina of Time, but it is still annoying. Anyway, Link's first task is to find his horse.

So, Link heads northwest from home (time 5:43). This takes him to the spring to the north.

There, he locates Epona and the girl who led her away (time 6:12). The girl is Ilia, a fellow villager. Turns out she just wanted to bathe Epona.

Afterwards, Ilia wants Link to demonstrate whistling Epona's Song with a piece of grass (time 6:53). This is simply a tutorial. Blowing on this grass will call Epona to Link's location. After this, Link can mount Epona and ride back to the south.

At Link's house, Link rides south into the main portion of Ordon Village (time 8:18). Along the way through the village, he can chat with Sera, the shopkeeper; Sera's husband; and their daughter, Beth. He can also find Rusl; his wife, Uli; and their son, Colin. Apparently, Colin is making a Fishing Rod for Link. Well, that could be helpful! Also, in the south, there is Mayor Bo. Check out his horn-shaped mustache!

Link continues south to Ordon Ranch (time 12:48). Fado is here, along with the village's herd of goats. When Link approaches Fado, Fado will put him to work herding the goats into the barn. Link has to ride by at an angle that will encourage them to go to the barn. He can make them move faster by whooping at them. Be careful about irritating one of them, though.

Fado will talk to Link after the herding is done (time 14:46). Fado will set up fences so that Link can practice fence-jumping. This works just like it worked in Ocarina of Time. Link will have to jump fences occasionally during the story, so it is a good skill to practice.

When he is done, Link jumps the gate and heads back home (time 16:32). The game will prompt us to save.

Bright and early the next morning, Link is awakened by some of the local children, Beth, Talo, and Malo (time 17:10). Obviously, they want to hang out with the village's cool oldest kid.

Link gains control inside his house (time 17:32). Pretty nice little house. However, the cellar is pitch black.

When he is ready, he heads outside (time 19:14). Beth, Talo, and Malo are in front of the door, while Colin is off to the side visiting Epona. Colin has finished the Fishing Rod, but Link will have to go to his house to get it.

Link talks to Beth, Talo, and Malo out front (time 20:21). Apparently, a Slingshot has come up for sale in Beth's mother's shop. Talo and Malo really want it, but they lack the funds. Sounds like something Link should get!

Next, Link will explore Ordon Village in more detail to get the Fishing Rod and the Slingshot.

Thanks for watching!
