10 New Warframe Empyrean Features You Didn’t See At TennoCon 2019
TennoCon 2019 has been and gone, bringing a massive Warframe Empyrean gameplay demo showing off Railjacks, Kingpins, Squad Link and more. We interviewed the team behind Warframe to find out even more Empyrean features, so here are 10 new things you didn’t see at Warframe TennoCon 2019. Thanks to Logitech G and the G432 7.1 Surround Sound gaming headset for sponsoring this video. Check out the tech behind the G432 over on the Logitech G site: http://bit.ly/2FkTkbi
Warframe Railjack has been renamed as Empyrean. Why? Creative director Steve Sinclair says while the ship is at the heart of the new content, it is a vehicle for linking the wider game. For starters you’ve got the new Warframe graphics update, improving the lighting and shadows and textures across the board. The audience at Warframe Tennocon 2019 seemed to dig it. It looks especially good in your new Warframe Railjack. If you are wondering how to unlock the Railjack, you have to build a drydock in your Clan Dojo - from here you’ve got an impressive amount of Warframe railjack customization. Just don’t call your ship the SS Jojo.
We really like the look of Warframe Squad Link, which links together two squads in two different levels and gives them a joint story mission. In the video we explain how the system works in more depth with new examples of missions that can happen. We also learn more about the Warframe Kuva Lich - this is your personal nemesis, and the long-awaited debut of the Warframe kingpin system. It sounds very cool. Not quite as cool as the Archwing Cannon, or the Warframe slingshot as we’re calling it - it turns you into a Tenno-shaped bullet. Fun. And did you know it was inspired by Sea of Thieves? True story.
Elsewhere Steve talks us through the new customization and why he sees the Railjack as a meta Warframe. He also explains how the Warframe Heliosphere works and why space is split into smaller levels, rather than one massive stretch of open space. All of this was behind closed doors info, so hopefully you find it new and interesting. By now you’ve probably seen the new Warframe gameplay - we don’t have new footage, sadly - but we do hope to cast some light on some of the bigger questions. Of course, if all you’ve seen so far is the Empyrean trailer you should really check out the Empyrean gameplay, it’s very cool. The one thing we don’t have is a Warframe Empyrean release date - it sounds like bits of it are still being locked down, so don’t expect it in the immediate future.

Thanks for watching Rock Paper Shotgun and hopefully see you again soon - we’ll have lots more Warframe fun as new updates appear in 2019. Bye!
