In The Legend of Zelda for the NES, you will often encounter an old man who lives in abandoned caves or secluded dungeon rooms. He gives you advice that ranges from obvious to cryptic to completely unintelligible. When you encounter the old man in Level 8, he will tell you "10TH ENEMY HAS THE BOMB." But what does this mean?

Around 2011, curious players discovered that if you defeat ten enemies in a row without taking damage, AND the tenth enemy is defeated by a bomb, that enemy will drop more bombs for Link to pick up!

The enemy must be one that can drop items; some enemies such as Keese don't drop items at all.

If you defeat ten enemies in a row without getting hit and the tenth enemy is NOT defeated by a bomb, it will instead drop a Blue Rupee.

Furthermore, if you are able to defeat 16 enemies in a row without taking damage, that enemy will release a Fairy.
