There aren't many compact cars made in the last 10 years that can say that 97 percent of those sold are still on the road today. Well, the Subaru Impreza is one of the few that has those incredible numbers on its resume. Here are the five reasons to go with the reliable and trusted 2017 Subaru Impreza.
Standard AWD
There aren't a ton of compact cars that even offer all-wheel drive, let alone give it to you as a standard feature. Subaru is one of those unique brands that does. The Impreza is surprisingly fun through turns and corners. As far as power goes, yes, there are others out there that are faster. However, the Impreza wins with the standard AWD. It's certainly an added bonus, especially if you experience weather elements where you drive.
Subaru StarLink
Up front, the Impreza has a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen, but the upgraded 8-in is worth it. Subaru's system is called StarLink, and it's one of the better interfaces out there. The Impreza has standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, because Subaru knows how we all feel about staying connected to our smartphones. We also recommend enjoying music through the available 8-speaker Harmon Kardon Premium audio system.
Impressive Styling
Subaru made a few subtle changes with the Impreza's design, and it really is sharper than ever. Coming standard are 16-in wheels, and the Limited trim level receives beautiful 18's. But regardless of trim level, whether it be the 5-door hatchback or sedan, the Impreza has a very impressive design -- and it's attractive from every angle.
Subaru Safety
As far as safety goes, Subaru offers a lot of features. We like the available EyeSight Driver Assist, which does just as it sounds: it adds an extra set of eyes and then applies some innovative technology. Of course, there's a standard rearview camera, but the available reverse automatic braking feature and blind spot monitoring are especially nice to have.
Efficient Boxer Engine
Powering the Impreza is a 2.0-liter boxer 4-cylinder engine good for 152 horsepower. The unique boxer engine design allows for better performance and efficiency. We're talking 38 miles per gallon on the highway with the CVT automatic. Note that there's also a manual transmission for those who enjoy shifting, which adds some fun to the driving experience.
Autotrader Says
Talk to someone who has a Subaru and you'll find out why buyers are so loyal to this brand. Why not see what the hype is about, and give the 2017 Subaru Impreza a test drive?
