#21 Zombies Ate My Neighbours - PLAYTHROUGH (Final 4 stages) - Beating My Snes Games
Here is the playthrough of Zombies Ate My Neighbours done live on IGTV. Unfortunately I was unable to upload more than 1 hr of the playthrough to IG where this originally uploaded, so it is just the final 1hr of the playthrough featuring the final 4 stages.
Follow me on instagram @CabinSNES_fever to join me live or via my reviews and uploads to witness me take down all the games currently in my SNES colleciton, following on from having already beaten all 234 licenced UK releases for the NES. I only use original carts, no cheats & no save states.
REVIEW:
-What's the longest you've left a console running? During my NES challenge it was often necessary to leave games running all day, sometimes unattended (not advisable). I thought those days were behind me but if your serious about beating this one, you'll need to devote an incredible amount of time! Not quite the 20years 1 man left his snes on (google it!), still, 49hrs is how long mine was powered for!
The irony is passwords are given, they're just completely useless since you lose all your items! While it maybe possible to survive some of the very early stages depleted (though still hard), absolutely forget it later on! At 48 levels its an Incredibly long grind & 1 that's nothing short of soul crushingly destroying to game over in; given the incredible time commitment required for another attempt! Thankfully there's 1 thing it does right.. its bloody excellent!
Each stage has you battling hilarious incarnations from the annuals of classic horror. Dracula to Body Snatchers, The Undead to Martian Invaders, every level is bursting with creativity & charm in everything from the maps to the monsters & even the pickups. I cant recall ever playing something with such a huge inventory! Half the battle is deciphering what does what and how best to use it. The other half is simply successfully cycling through to utilise it effectively. While a Killer Doll is neutralized best with a Soda bomb, a Werewolf requires cutlery(presumably silver). Caught by 1 surprise monster spawn while retreating from another (a constant) the chaos from inventory selection begins; by the 3rd time you cycle past your desired item you'll have lost half your health! It's an incredibly fast and very unforgiving game for those not masters of the inventory!
With taking damage almost inevitable, the importance of stockpiling med-packs must not be understated. Good stocks of supplies really is your only hope, leaving you constantly balancing item exploration with taking damage. Since you also need to save at least 1 victim in each level or game over, the challenge is stacked pretty high!
Again I'll echo how much fun this game is, but boy is it a commitment to beat!
