#252 Marvel vs. Capcom 2: Proof of hacking and playing as Abyss' second form.
A playthrough of the 2nd form of the unplayable boss Abyss in Capcom's Marvel vs Capcom 2.
#Do your best to not input the command f, d, df + HP with Abyss, as this will crash the game#
Second Form Abyss' moves:
qcf + P
qcf + K
qcb + K
Super:
qcb + LP
The second form of Abyss is an odd slime creature. He has the ability to shoot lasers from his hand, or the ability to shoot flames from them also. He has an overpowered bubble attack, which functions similarly to Magneto's hyper-grav in Children of the Atom; they are unblockable, must be dodged and hold the character in place. 2nd Abyss is invincible as well when he does this move, so you can spam it to your hearts content. This is somewhat necessarily as well, as this form of Abyss seems to be the weakest, and dies quite easily. Finally, he has a hyper combo which can be used infinitely, where he spins around and performs a flurry of lasers similar to Doctor Doom. This move works best when used in conjunction with his bubble move, and can do some serious damage. All in all, pretty interesting boss, but the least interesting of the three. He's the most bland of the three forms of Abyss (the first and third being much more iconic). But I still think he's somewhat decent, and technically the easiest to play with. Quite fun as a boss, if a little overpowered.
[How to play as Abyss]
You need a cheating program to edit the character values in the game. I personally use artmoney.
To access Abyss, you must set the search options to look for 2-byte integers, then highlight one of the following characters and search for the number associated with them. This is their character value:
00 = Ryu
01 = Zangief
02 = Guile
03 = Morrigan
04 = Anakaris
05 = Strider Hiryu
Use this to find the address which controls the character value. Once you have, type one of the following numbers into the value section and freeze the value using the program:
24 = First Form Abyss
25 = Second Form Abyss
26 = Third Form Abyss
I will be making a tutorial on how to do this in the future, so stay tuned.
