Rocket Metal is the maintenance, space-equpped version of Metal Sonic seen during the intro of the game. He has Knuckles' move set as default, which is to be expected. Curiously, his title card appears as Rocket Metal, and his in-game name is even Rocket Metal. Now this is curious. In Soul Blade, the game did have title cards for the unplayable, cut-scene characters. However, none of them had their name as the in-game name underneath their lifebar. This heavily implies that Rocket Metal would have been some sort of hidden character at some point (which makes sense; all that time spent animating a separate model only for it to be in the game for two seconds would have been a waste). He was, however, ultimately scrapped, although now is fully accessible thanks to this boss hack. It's a real shame how rushed this game was. If it had been allowed to come to fruition, this game would have been one of Sega's best in terms of hidden content, and probably would have garnered a much greater cult following. Then again, Sega in the mid-90s were all about shooting themselves in the foot, so you couldn't hope for too much.
