In case you've never heard of it, Godot is an open source, C++ based Unity like game engine. It includes all of the tools you need to create 2D and 3D games including a very impressive integrated editor. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux and is able to generate games for all of those platforms as well as iOS, Android, Blackberry, NaCL, as well as Windows Phone and HTML5 shortly. As I said earlier, it is open source and completely free.
