I needed to create a sprite sheet for an upcoming tutorial, so I thought I would share the process. We use a combination of Mixamo Fuse to create the character, Mixamo for the animations (completely free), Blender for renderering, then TexturePacker for assemingly the results into a single spritesheet. With very little artistic talent, you can create some pretty impressive character sprites in a very short period of time.
For more information on Fuse I reviewed it a few weeks back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz1VNG24VLk
