Walkthrough/Playthrough/Let's Play
Description:
In 258 AXW, HEAL (Harnessing Ether Around Life) captures Axephus and forcibly experiments on him to give him Farian DNA. He survives the process and escapes from his restraints, turning his newfound power on the mad scientists who tricked him. Unfortunately, escaping is going to be difficult because his memory keeps deteriorating, resulting in constant HP damage. Not only will Axephus have to defeat all the guards, he'll have to pick up Memory Orbs and manage his healing items in order to take the memory serum from Dr. Loncelle.

0:00 Title
0:26 Lab Room
HEAL tricked Axephus and experimented on him against his will. They implant Farian DNA into him in order to give him Hex powers, which combine with his psychic powers to create Aether powers. However, he breaks free from his restraints and kills the scientists in the room.
Unfortunately, he keeps losing his memories over time, which results in DOT when you take too many steps and at the end of each turn. He does remember Dr. Loncelle is his enemy.
5:44 East Hall
Fortunately, the game marks all observable tiles, which should make it easier to plan your route. You can also pick up memory orbs to heal yourself. I wonder why memory is tied to HP? Maybe Axephus is so powerful that he's not actually taking actual damage from the enemies, but each hit takes away his concentration and causes him to forget faster.
HEAL never realized that Klein was Solielle's son. Maybe it's for the best, since they would have persecuted him if they found out.
There are finite touch encounters, but even though all of them are Errans, they leave a body behind. It's possible Axephus didn't actually kill them, or it's possible Starmage forgot her own lore. Maybe Axephus spared them because he fears that his daughter will be stigmatized by proxy otherwise.
11:38 South Hall
You'll be warned of a boss fight.
12:19 Boss: Security Mech
15:40 South Hall
Axephus remembers his daughter Seda, which generates a memory orb that fully restores him.
The green ghosts explode upon contact.
16:56 West Hall
20:37 Boss: Security Mech, Swordsman Elite, Cipher Elite
Yes, it's just the previous boss, but with the strongest regular enemies in the game backing it up. You'll probably receive so much damage you can use Axephus's ultimate skill at least twice.
23:18 Ending
Dr. Loncelle cowers and offers the memory serum in exchange for his survival. Axephus takes the serum, but attacks Loncelle anyways. Again, none of the bodies dissolve, so it's possible Axephus technically kept his word and spared them, but not without some pain.
24:16 Credits
25:11 Wrapping Up
I know this is a game contest project that was made to be short on purpose, but I wish we could have seen Axephus reunite with Seda, as well as see HEAL exposed for their crimes. I'm sure Ellemine is going to be upset at yet another unethical science experiment.
