Description:
Cloud is an ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary, who accepts a job from Avalanche, an eco-terrorist group that opposes his former employer. Avalanche believes that Shinra's Mako Reactors will drain Gaia of its Lifestream, dooming the environment in the process. Unfortunately, the ultimate SOLDIER Sephiroth resurfaces after his apparent death, threatening all life on the planet once more.

We see the Airbuster, but make no attempt to preemptively destroy or sabotage it.
After we place the bomb, the ladder automatically pulls up to prevent our escape. Turns out Shinra anticipated this and wants to execute us on live TV using the Airbuster.
Along the way, we have to use keycards on various consoles to discard the Airbuster's parts, but you are forced to use the first one on a useless M-Unit. Use the rest on 4 AI Programming Cores and 1 Big Bomber.

To get to the boss and to the discarded parts, you have to do the infamous timing minigame. No, you don't get that one mod where Barret says "close enough."
President Shinra gloats that he'll use Avalanche's bad reputation to start another war with Wutai and stoke patriotic fervor.

If you suck at dodging and avoiding damage, definitely make sure Barret uses Lifesaver and Steelskin.
Unlike me, you want want to try to get through phase 1 without staggering the boss, since the stagger gauge carries over into phase 2 for some reason, which could allow you to bypass the hands.
Phase 3 is annoying because only Barret can hit the Airbuster when it flies. It's also very difficult to stagger it before it flies away again.
Phase 4 raises the stagger gauge value to insane amounts to the point where even a two-bar Focused Shot does barely anything when it's pressured, so if you have any Limit Breaks saved up, you might as well use them. The boss will also use Tankbuster and can change its angle. Unlike me, make sure to have Cloud berserked first and use the Limit Break to cancel out unblockable moves like Tankbuster.
Honestly, it's crazy that I can do such a crappy job at avoiding damage, yet still win without using a single item. But I'm scared that I'll never be skilled enough for hard mode if I'm having this much trouble on normal mode.
