Walkthrough/Playthrough/Let's Play
Description:
Cloud is an ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary, who accepts a job from Avalanche, an eco-terrorist group that opposes his former employer. Avalanche believes that Shinra's Mako Reactors will drain Gaia of its Lifestream, dooming the environment in the process. Unfortunately, the ultimate SOLDIER Sephiroth resurfaces after his apparent death, threatening all life on the planet once more.

0:00 Recap
0:14 Falling Down
Cloud has a mental talk with his real self, but then Sephiroth shows up to taunt him. No wonder Marle is worried that he's not getting enough sleep.
1:44 Aerith's Church
Once again, the flower bed is made of balloons or something.
Aerith talks a bit about her White Materia. Too bad it's way harder to use than the Black Materia.
Reno shows up with some troopers to take Aerith. He also doesn't believe Cloud's claims of being a SOLDIER.
You have to fight two waves of enemies, but your Limit Gauge will carry over to the boss fight, so use Blizzara to stagger the Elite Troopers.
Once Cloud takes down the infantry, Reno uses his speed to put pressure on Cloud.
6:28 Boss: Reno
He will automatically dodge regular attacks like Shock Troopers, but if you use Punisher Mode's counterattack, you can pressure him. If you dodge towards him just as he attacks, Cloud will handstand flip over Reno and put him in an even more potent pressured state.
In his second phase, he'll summon mines that can bind you and make you miserable. You'll want to use Triple Slash or various spells to destroy them, though if you have enough Limit Gauge, one Cross Slash will take out the rest of Reno's health even without the Berserk buff.
7:19 Aerith's Church
Cloud tries to kill Reno, but the ghosts push him and Aerith into the back room. When the two try to escape to the attic and Aerith nearly falls over a broken railing, a ghost catches her and helps her regain her footing. Just whose side are the ghosts on?
Aerith ends up falling anyways, and Cloud has to climb across the ceiling by using the beams. It's kind of clunky to move like this.
12:45 Sector 5 Slums Rooftops
Cloud and Aerith bond over traveling across rusty buildings.
18:31 Path to Station
Aerith's playstyle takes a lot of setup, but could be good in longer battles against tankier enemies if you want to make your magic damage more efficient. For now, Cloud can still cheese most encounters with Triple Slash spam.
22:14 Sector 5 Slums Station
Unfortunately, another Turk shows up, so we have to take a long detour through the monster infested scrapyard.
25:15 Sector 5 Slums Scrapyard
There are some gates that can only be opened from the other side. It really shows how little Shinra cares about maintaining the lower level.
36:37 Sector 5 Slums Center District
You'll see a new broadcast about the terrorist attacks. Scarlet and a trooper assault a cameraman for some reason, even though the media is always going to favor Shinra.
42:21 Aerith's House
We need to pick flowers, and I'm not sure what the best choice is.
47:38 Sector 5 Slums Center District
Once you deliver the flowers, you can explore the town alone with Cloud for a bit.
48:44 Aerith's House
Why did Aerith just leave this materia here.
48:57 Sector 5 Slums Center District
You can now shop and get new intel report quests from Chadley. You can challenge a VR mission in order to get Shiva's materia, but for some reason, we don't need a dedicated room like in Crisis Core. It'd be crazy if Cloud accidentally attacked a civilian while fighting VR Shiva.
54:19 Boss: Shiva
You can actually wait for Aerith to return first, but it's still possible to beat Shiva with Cloud, even without consumables. Shiva has a very anti-Cloud moveset and she resists physicals when she's not staggered though. Note that at 1/4 HP, she'll charge up Diamond Dust and her stagger cannot be fully filled until after her Limit Break fires off. But if you get it high enough, you can cut her most aggressive phase short.
