Alex Kidd and the Miracle Gems- Fangame Preview 4: Item Shop
3Alex Kidd in Miracle World's shop mechanic was a big part of the game. As you collected Baum (money) throughout the game, you could use it to buy anything from extra lives to a motorcycle or copter. I'm happy to showcase that my fangame Alex Kidd and the Miracle Gems will have a very similar shop!
It took some thinking on how to integrate a Miracle World style shop in a game where coins follow Sonic ring logic. Basically, if you finish an act with coins, all the coins you had go into a bank of sorts. Then between zones, you can use the money you've saved up to buy lives or shields. I think it's a pretty cool concept if I may say so myself!
Oh, and the music is inspired by the Wii Channel music, but with the Alex Kidd melody.
