Today, we had a TON of new info come out of Microsoft's Game Stack 2021 event. A huge part of this is their continuing collaboration with AMD, which look set to REDEFINE Xbox Series X and PC gaming.
One of these is the highly anticipated FidelityFX, which of course brings a ton of new features to the table. These include ray tracing denoising for shadows and reflections. FidelityFX coming to Xbox also lays the groundwork for FidelityFX Super Sampling, AMD's answer to Nvidia's DLSS machine learning upsampling technology.
Info on the Agility SDK was also included in today's Microsoft GameStack event, giving developers more tools to work with DirectX 12 for PC. Naturally, what was discussed in the conference has large implications for both PC gaming and console gaming, so it will be interesting to see where this collab between AMD and Microsoft takes the gaming industry in both the PC and next gen console space.
