Sony recently made a significant investment into Epic Games recently, on top of previous investments that Sony had already made into Epic. This is of course on top of their collaboration for Unreal Engine 5 and the PS5, which they showed off in the impressive UE5 Nanite & Lumen graphics engine demo. So, in the wake of this investment from Sony, what are Sony's plans for Epic Games?
With Sony filing some very interesting patents for the Playstation 5 and beyond, which cover both games, hardware (such as the PS VR 2) and other entertainment mediums, it seems that Sony has their sights set on blurring the lines between the entertainment genres of games, movies, and more. Unreal Engine has already been used for productions like The Mandalorian, so how else could it be used?
