Amnesia: The Dark Descent Demo (2010) (PC) (Frictional Games)
10Due to a couple of great digital download sales earlier this year I own all of the Penumbra episodes (Overture, Black Plague and Requiem respectively) but I've yet to actually play this independently developed and highly atmospheric survival horror/adventure game series. That's too bad, since the game's Swedish developer Frictional Games will be releasing a spiritual successor in a few days time called Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Apart from different settings and some graphical upgrades to the nice proprietary engine, Amnesia seems very similar to Penumbra in terms of its gameplay so expect more physics-based puzzles and tense exploration of dimly lit environments.
Note: This game is supposed to be dark. *Very* dark...
