Unsurprisingly given this game's title, GSC Game World chose iconic doomed city of Pripyat as the setting for the third and final of Call of Pripyat's main sectors, and this time around it's even more bone-chilling to walk the broken pavements and glance across the endless rows of empty rundown buildings. Pripyat was of course inluded in the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as well but in that game it mostly served as the backdrop for some rather linear shooter action (much the same way as in Call of Duty 4, by the way, which featured an annoying shoot-out at the ferris wheel). In Call of Pripyat, the city is instead open to exploration at the player's own pace, which among other things ensures that the somber, almost suffocating atmosphere of the place (unrivalled even by STALKER's standards) gets time to really sink in. I can't wait to see what horrible secrets lie in wait for me in this city of ruins...
